Dhairya Dand

Biography

Dhairya is an award winning inventor and artist who runs ODD Industries a futurist factory+lab in NYC. His work investigates the human body as a medium for computation, new materials as a tool to embody interactions and design as a vehicle for mindfulness. Past inventions include: bio reactive architecture, elastic computer screens, shape changing gadgets, shoes that tickle and guide, alcohol aware ice cubes, synthetic muscles, programmable hair, emotionally intelligent flowers, sensory apparatus for music learning and educational toys from eWaste, optically invisible fiber-optics among others. Recent exhibitions at the V&A, Tokyo Design Week, MIT Museum, recognized in the 2015 and 2016 Forbes ‘30 Under 30’ list, WIRED Innovation Fellow, INK Fellow, FoST Fellow, ELLE’s ‘Names to Know in 2015’, VOGUE’s ‘Cool People’ list, Globe’s ‘Top 25 Innovators’ list. Biography

Hilal is a UX lead and manager at Google, empowering Google Cloud with insightful data visualization experiences that amplify cognition and decision-making. Hilal brings over seven years of design experience to her role, including time at Recombine, Crowdtap, Fjord, Superbright, and Collective Spark. Prior to joining the design world with an MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design, Hilal received her BS in Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics from the University of Maryland College Park. After receiving her BS, she worked at Cornell Medical College as a research assistant conducting research on developmental genetics, cancer and vascular biology. In her free time, Hilal enjoys traveling, music, and making electronic gadgets.

Their client list includes Adobe, Bloomberg Businessweek, D.S. & Durga, Google, Gucci, IBM, The New York Times, Refinery 29, Renault, Shiseido, Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, Target, Tate Modern, and UNIQLO among many others.
Wade and Leta have given talks about how not to kill each other at conferences all over the world including North America, South America, Europe, and Africa, and Australia. Last we checked, they are still very much alive.
